Castleview School is a vibrant, inclusive mainstream primary school in Slough, catering for pupils aged 4–11. We offer a nurturing environment that includes a well-established Nursery and a Specialist Resource Base for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex needs. We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEND Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and support across both our Resource Base and mainstream classrooms. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering tailored learning opportunities for pupils with SEND, especially those with ASC and complex needs, while fostering inclusion and supporting pupils' personal and academic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver differentiated and inclusive lessons to meet the individual learning needs of pupils with SEND.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress regularly.
- Support pupils with communication through AAC, Makaton, PECS, and other appropriate strategies.
- Implement targeted interventions and programmes including Attention Autism, Zones of Regulation, and Sensory Circuits.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each pupil.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes emotional regulation and well-being.
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to support engagement and learning.
- Maintain detailed records of pupil achievement, behaviour, and needs.
- Actively contribute to the wider life of the school and support whole-school inclusion practices.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in primary or Early Years education.
- Proven track record of working with children with SEND, particularly those with ASC and complex learning profiles.
- A deep understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated learning strategies.
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Passionate about ensuring all pupils reach their full potential.
Desirable:
- Training or experience in AAC, Makaton, TEACCH, PECS, or sensory integration approaches.
- Experience working in a specialist provision or resource base setting.
- Knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices.
- Experience developing and delivering interventions that support emotional regulation and engagement.

Working hours: 32.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday from 8:30am – 3:30pm.
Term-time only, plus 5 INSET days.
Salary range: Level 3, Point 5-7 (Actual pro-rata salary £19,478.00 – £20,076.00 per annum).

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching & Learning Assistant to join
our happy and forward-thinking successful school.
The main responsibilities of the role are:-
- To support pupil’s effective, independent learning.
- To support pupils with wellbeing and emotional and social development.
- To provide extra support for pupils with special educational needs or disabilities. Including
intimate care needs when required. - To provide extra support for pupils with English as an additional language.
