In English, the children have continued to read a text, retrieve information and answer simple questions. In addition to this, they have been polishing up on their spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Maths
This week the children have continued to consolidate their learning that they have done so far this year. They have also been learning to find half and a quarter of a quantity.
Homework
This week we would like the children to write facts about pollution in the ocean and draw a picture on the given sheet.
Purplemash/Sumdog- Free choice of activities.
Spelling Shed-
Please complete the given assignment.
Allow the children to play the games, the children have been shown how to do this.
Daily Reading
Children should be reading daily for at least 10 minutes a day.
Please do discuss the story with your child in order to check their understanding.
Spellings
Please practise spelling the following words. These will be tested on Thursday 26th June 2025.
We would like all the children to practice spelling the Year 1 common exception words over the next couple of weeks in preparation for Year 2.

Mercury class assembly-Tuesday 24th June at 2.45pm
Children in Mercury class have bought home lines to practise for their class assembly. On the back of their lines if it states 'tiger' they will need to wear
(a black or orange t- shirt/top and black PE joggers) if it states 'China' they will need to wear (a red t- shirt/top and black PE joggers).
Please send the correct clothing in a named bag for their assembly by Friday 20th June.
